Before the project began….
This was a major project- a big hill, it started out severely horrific, when I first entered and saw it’s potential.
Not only did it not look good, but the loose rocks meant that it was not safe for the client’s children to play in the yard.
After completion of the project….
I created a sanctuary where originally it had been a terrible headache.
The owner wanted to put her own flowers that did not grow locally, and we were able to accomplish this, achieving a beautiful display of these non-native plants.
It sure is lovely!
The clients love to entertain, and there is often the sound of flamenco guitar here, which led us to calling this the “Barcelona” project.
Around the Kiva style fire pit is much room for the many guests that these people entertain.
The owner wanted an area to camp with his kids, so I created a meadow that was flat with a view of the fire pit.
There are gorgeous views for entertaining and climbing around and hanging out.
The waterfall feeds a small stream that leads to the pond, and is then sent back up to the waterfall. The water is recycled through biological filters.
This is a wonderland!!
Usually we plant indigenous. . . but these non-native plants are beautiful!!
