Before – There was so much I did not like about this… plain and poorly thought out with a concrete walkway. I had to fight my way into removing much of the concrete pathway in order to open up space for what I saw my fantasy to be. The concrete had just been laid recently and it cost them quite a bit, so in order to convince them took immeasurable amounts of my passion.
….And the plain concrete path was transformed….
Here comes the Sun!
Filling in the Sun Mosaic rock by rock. Tobi created the pattern/layout, and Jose and Felipe cut, fit and set the pieces, manifesting her vision into gorgeous reality.
See what I designed without that concrete pathway!! The Vice-President wanted areas of contemplation secluded from one another, and open teaching spaces.
“Your wish is my command!”, I said.
I used recycled chimney tile for benches, and gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous colorful rock for background.
Imagine this with plantings in all of the large expanses of bark mulch….private intimate seating areas and large classroom spaces
Playing with space, when you do not have much of it, is a gift I have that makes any area feel large and spacious.
To the left is a water feature, that I designed in the shape of a paisley. Now the students can have their classes outdoors on a beautiful day, and celebrate having this beautiful, enchanting water feature.
The mosaic design includes The Tree of Life, the Mystical, Magical Sun and the swirling Spiral. A heart welcomes you to the Contemplation area.
